Countdown to the new season
It’s time to start getting excited for the new season with Till Carr Lane set to come back to life for a spring and summer of cricket on Saturday 18th April.
On day one of the season, the 2nd XI welcome Pudsey Congs to our home. Fresh from promotion to the Bradford Premier League 2nd XI Premier Division, Rob Burton’s side will face a tough opening test against the third-placed side from the 2025 campaign.
Away from home on day one, the 1st XI will travel to Hanging Heaton in what is a contest between the two newly promoted sides competing in the Bradford Premier League Division 1. With a mix of familiar faces and new additions, Alex Stead’s squad will be hoping to mark their intent in the first of their 22 league fixtures over the next 21 weeks.

The opening weekend continues on Sunday as Gary Lewsley and Neil Wood take to the field as captain of the 3rd XI and 4th XI for the first time.
It’s Gary’s 3rd XI who will be at home welcoming Sowerby Bridge in the Halifax Sunday League Division 1. The Villagers topped the table in 2025 while Sowerby Bridge are newly promoted after topping the Division 2 table in September.
Neil’s 4th XI will be on the road and are set to continue to blend youth and experience through the weeks ahead. They’ll be at Sowerby Bridge Church Institute for their fixture.
Fixtures for our five junior squads across 13 different leagues are also now confirmed giving opportunities to our dozens of young cricketers. The junior season begins on Sunday 26th April with our U9s at Sowerby Bridge St Peter’s with our other age groups starting their Halifax Junior Cricket League campaigns in the days that follow.
